Boudreau’s Boat Building is hiring!

Boat shop experience is not necessary.  

Carpentry & fiberglass laminating skills are assets.

CURRENTLY SEEKING FINISH CARPENTER/MARINE JOINER

OVERVIEW

 Our team is seeking a finish carpenter to work in a quality-focused boat building and repair environment between the hours of 7 am and 4 pm, + as needed. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  - Fabricating, installing, and repairing high-quality, wooden/composite/metal fittings on boats and yachts. 

-Interpret blueprints to plan for cutting and measuring, as well as to install bulkheads, furniture, ceilings, doors, and flooring. 

-Ensure compliance with Transport Canada marine safety regulations in both new construction and repair projects.

-Fitting insulation, caulking, and constructing interior fixtures in confined or awkward spaces.

- Able to move in narrow and restricted passageways, up/down steep and narrow ladders or stairways, and up and down antenna masts, marine slips, and gangways (onboard ships)

-Application of finishes, laminates, and performing repairs on existing vessel interiors.

-Safety Compliance: Adhere to strict maritime safety regulations, often including working with firefighting and structural fire-insulation requirements.
- Will be exposed to environmental elements as work is conducted inside and outside throughout the year

- Attention to quality control

- Clean-up and adherence to shop procedures

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

-Dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.

-Proficiency in using hand/power tools and ability to work with various materials, such as, wood, laminates, and composites.

-Ability to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, and heavy-lift (50 lbs).
-Experience in marine carpentry an asset. All high-end carpentry experience is valuable for this position.
- Organization, numeracy, and oral communication skills
- Steel-toed boots 

- Weather-appropriate work clothes that cover the body, including legs and arms 

- (all other PPE is provided)
